My cat is 12 years old and recently diagnosed with IBD, so she requires small meals throughout the day. I couldn't handle the 6am feeds and feeds every few hours anymore (I work from home and it makes it impossible to get any focused work done) so I was really hopeful when I found this product.
I think the app and product could use some work. It's advertised as being cordless and wifi enabled, but they don't clearly tell you (there's very small fine print language in one of their product images, which I saw after receiving the feeder) that you can't actually utilize the wifi function unless it's plugged into a power source. When in "battery mode" the app constantly sends notifications that the feeder is in low power/battery mode and needs to be plugged in, and the little red light on the feeder telling you the machine is unplugged doesn't turn off like it's supposed to, so it's just constantly on (which gives me anxiety). Also, there's no indicator light for the battery, so you have no clue when it's fully charged or running low on battery. I emailed them, and they advised it should be charged for 6 to 8 hours and that the little red indicator light for the power source should turn off on its own after some time (it never turned off).
The feeding tray that comes with the feeder is a nice BPA free plastic, but it has pretty poor temperature conductivity with the ice packs if you plan to use it for wet food (you have to order the stainless steel version separately).
I think my cat is still getting used to the feeder since she doesn't really seem interested in eating out of it during the day. Ultimately, I'll probably continue using the product for the early morning feeds and maybe when I'm gone for extended hours.
